CHILDREN CAN BE
VOICE ARTISTES
TOO

There
is lot of requirement these days for Child Voice
Artistes ranging as young as 4 years to 14 years
of age. As more and more Kids Channel open up so
are the need for these type pf voices. Whether it
is radio, TV, Educational Content, audio books,
everywhere is the need for child voices. Using an
adult voice or a female voice would not be called
true authenticity or giving justice to the
program. You would have seen many programs where
you must have given a thought that my kid isn’t
less than what I just saw or heard.
What all is required to be Child Voice Artiste
1. Ability to read fluently
2. Clear pronunciation and diction
3. Ability to give expressions as per the dialogue
4. Voice Texture- doesn’t matter until there is
some natural problem
5. An Interest – which should be of prime
importance
A
kid can definitely be committed to school and also
have an extracurricular activity, and if the
voicing is treated like any other extra activity,
such as games, then I think it would be perfectly
healthy, the only trick would be that you would
absolutely need to keep them focused on school as
well, and not put all of their hopes into being a
voice artiste. If you see that your child has a
potential and can speak fluently and expresses
emotions, or has interest in dramatics, you should
encourage him/her. May be enroll him/her her in a
voice lessons because this will greatly enhance
his/her skills. Your role as a parent is to guide
and help develop his/her skills and potential.
It is our
duty as parents to encourage, support, and develop
our child's talent. If she or he has a good voice,
enroll her to voice or singing lessons. But also
want him or her to stick with it and practice, not
just for fun. But don’t pressurize them.
It has
been also seen that lot of kids are negatively
impacted by things like pursuing singing and
acting because their parents get overly excited
and start fantasizing about huge houses, new cars,
and coasting through life on their kid. So long as
the parents don't pressure the child, give the
child realistic expectations, and don't allow for
all of the child's self esteem to be tied, I think
its fine.
The kids
sort out their own talents after a while, but
there's nothing wrong with encouraging them in
areas for which they show genuine talent. I think
so long as they're having fun, you should
encourage them. Kids should know their talents are
appreciated, and that they're special.
If you
feel your child is already ready to perform behind
the microphone register him/her in the category of
Child Voice Artistes.
