An MBA or business qualification helps to host a show relating to opening events or during product launches. High-end qualifications not only make you more responsible towards your job but also give you an edge over others. In addition, you need to have command over your language, an excellent vocabulary and diction. Since English is also used considerably in all shows so you must have to be good in apart from your native or Vernacular language. You should be spontaneous, able to react to any question; here your confidence shows your personality. So never ever lose your confidence on stage. Stage experience and hosting various types of shows gradually build up your confidence of any given situations or unruly event. This will also build up your stage presence.
Since these days shows have become a everyday event, so for all kind of events hosts or Emcee's are required. This definitely helps in getting the basics of the trade but the real experience is when you get on the stage. The best way to look for your first break is by making your Demo CD of few minutes consisting your Video or Audio of hosting dummy Shows and then taking your portfolio or Demo CD copies to event management companies which are usually looking for new Hosts, Anchors, Emcees. You should also know that you have to deliver from day one - irrespective of how big or small the event is. Your originality & innovative ideas are an assest to your trade. Regarding what you earn from this Emcee, Host or Anchoring a Show, sky is the limit. Even a fresh Emcee can expect anything around USD 100 or Rs.2000 to Rs. 3000 per show. After some years of experience and his/her originality & popularity, he/she could earn anything between USD 1500 to USD 2500 or Rs. 50,000 to Rs. One Lac for one show.
