VOICING WORKSHOP
No. 55

 
 

The 55th Voicing Workshop was conducted on request in Chennai, in a sound studio in Mylapore It was a tremendous response and we had 9 participants. Some were already voice and dubbing artistes but were looking to explore more. The participants were the following -

Chitra - a professional in her twenties and a Tamil dubbing artiste. Being a native Tamilian she has good command over the language
Kaanthan - who had worked on numerous voicing assignments and had very high baritone voice with good command over English. Spending numerous years in Canada helped him over the language.
Divya Anand Nataraj- an experienced voice over artiste for Hindi, English and Tamil. She had mid baritone grainy voice which was perfect for narrative and promo related content
Chandeep Kaur Chawla - A home maker looking for alternate career into voicing. She had good command over her native language Punjabi and Hindi
V. Srikumar- professor of English language, who had mastered the English language. Had good baritone voice perfect for narrations and promos.
Anjana Raju - Tamil, English and Malayalam voice artist looking to polish her delivery.
S. Baskaran- An entrepreneur who had the capability of translating text from English to Tamil. He had good command over the language with high baritone texture. To enrich himself, he came for the workshop from all the way from Pondicherry.
Smita D. Bedre - Already a voice artist and translator in Marathi and Hindi she was looking for a training session for a long time to improve upon her kills and talent.
Mona Bedre - She is already on the voice artistes roster since three years for English, Tamil, Hindi languages. Hungry for knowledge she did not wanted to miss this event at any cost.

This was one of the finest group we had. All were immensely talented, desirous to learn and had a great grasping power. Whatever was discussed in theory was applied behind the mic. All all had a varied voice texture. This workshop took more than usual time as these people recorded their demos with many scripts. Some even recorded the AVs. All were immensely desirous to learn and myself, Umakant Meyyappa and Sound Engineer Somu enjoyed training them with full motivation. We all really had a good time.
